Smart combination of 4 types of fertilizers can increase the yield and improve the quality of fruit trees
Improper fertilization during production can lead to poor appearance and taste of fruits. Therefore, improving fruit quality is crucial, and efforts should be made in nutrient supply, that is, rational fertilization. After years of technical promotion practice, the author has proposed the theory of "four-fertilizer conditioning for comprehensive nutrition of fruit trees", which involves achieving nutrient supply for fruit trees through the scientific combination of four types of fertilizers (Organic Fertilizer, macronutrient fertilizer, bio-bacterial fertilizer, and micronutrient fertilizer), ensuring that the root system of fruit trees can obtain comprehensive and sufficient nutrients.
1. Organic fertilizer
Organic fertilizer plays a significant role in enhancing the quality of fruits. After being applied to the soil, organic matter effectively improves the soil's physical and chemical conditions, mellows the soil, and enhances its ability to retain and supply nutrients as well as its buffering capacity, thereby creating favorable soil conditions for the growth of fruit trees.
Meanwhile, after the decomposition of organic fertilizer, it provides energy and nutrients for soil microbial activities, promotes microbial activity, accelerates the decomposition of organic matter, and the resulting active substances can promote root growth and improve the quality of fruits.
II. Macro-element fertilizers
Nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium are the three essential elements for fruit trees. The application of these three elements has been widely recognized and accepted by fruit farmers, and has played a significant role in increasing fruit yield.
It should be noted that macronutrients not only refer to nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, but also include carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. These three elements, carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen, are equally important and are obtained from the air and water, respectively. Therefore, orchards must not be overgrown and must be ventilated and exposed to light. Moreover, watering should be timely, and attention should be paid to maintaining appropriate soil moisture content.
Bio-bacterial fertilizer
There are many types of biological bacterial fertilizers available today. The ones that are particularly effective for fruit trees are mainly beneficial bacteria that can release phosphorus and potassium, accelerate decomposition, and enhance the decomposition ability of organic matter and soil permeability.
When applying organic fertilizer in autumn, it is recommended to incorporate bio-fertilizer with strong microbial activity and a high number of live microorganisms. By deeply plowing and mixing, it aids in the colonization of the microbial community, thereby exerting a synergistic effect.
IV. Microelement and trace element fertilizers
Medium-level elements refer to silicon, calcium, magnesium, and sulfur, which play a role in fruit trees that is second only to the major elements. Recent studies have shown that medium-level elements play an important role in improving tree resistance and fruit quality, and should be highly regarded, rather than being treated as optional trace elements.
Trace elements refer to iron, boron, manganese, copper, zinc, molybdenum, and chlorine, which are essential for fruit trees. Although the amounts required for these trace elements are small, they are all indispensable to fruit trees.
Often, various issues encountered by fruit trees are largely attributed to the deficiency of certain essential elements. Therefore, supplementing the missing macro and trace elements in moderation is crucial for enhancing yield and quality.
In this regard, we should be aware of two tendencies. One is to neglect it completely, only knowing to apply a large amount of elemental fertilizers; the other is the issue of overapplication, where excessive application of trace elements can lead to antagonism and have the opposite effect.
It should also be noted that in coastal plain areas, due to the high content of chlorine salts in the soil, there is no need to supplement additional chlorine, and many fruit trees are sensitive to chlorine.
