In 2025, the official standard requirements for fertilizer synergists will be established

2026-01-15

In 2025, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs formulated and issued the standard requirements for fertilizer synergists (NY/T4541-2025), which provides direction for the green and synergistic development of agriculture.
1. Fertilizer synergist
In the process of fertilizer production or application, a general term for a class of non-plant mineral nutrients and non-hormonal substances that are added to fertilizers to improve fertilizer utilization by enhancing nutrient supply, promoting nutrient absorption by plants, or regulating soil microbial and enzyme activities.
Once again, it is clarified that plant regulators can only be used as pesticides, not as fertilizer synergists. The applicable scopes and official positions of the two are clearly distinguished and must not be confused. Adding regulators in violation of regulations is illegal.
II. Raw materials and preparation method of fertilizer synergist
It is mainly divided into three types: natural/plant-derived material extracts, microbial metabolites, and chemically synthesized substances.
Among them, natural/plant-derived material extracts mainly include humic acid, alginic acid, amino acids, oligosaccharides/polysaccharides, etc;
The metabolic products of microorganisms mainly include γ-polyglutamic acid, γ-aminobutyric acid, etc;
Chemically synthesized substances mainly include urease inhibitors, nitrification inhibitors, etc.
III. Quality indicators of fertilizer synergist
It should comply with the corresponding national standards or industry standards. For fertilizer synergist products for which there are no relevant national or industry standards, applicable group standards, enterprise standards, etc. may be followed.
IV. Safety of Fertilizer Synergist
The addition of fertilizer synergist to the fertilization process does not pose production safety issues such as combustion and explosion;
When applied to fertilizer production equipment, the synergist does not corrode the equipment, does not react violently with the fertilizer, and does not release toxic or harmful gases;
It does not cause toxicity to plants, animals, or the human body, and does not damage the soil environment.
V. Identification and instructions for use
1. The product packaging container should bear the following information: name and address of the manufacturing enterprise, contact information, product name, product dosage form, name and content of active ingredients, product standard number, production date/batch number, net content, shelf life, storage conditions, and inspection certificate.
2. The product specification should include the product usage method, indicated pH value, maximum indicated value of water insoluble matter (liquid), maximum indicated value of moisture content (for solid products), indicated value or indicated range of density, maximum indicated value of heavy metal content, maximum indicated value of viscosity, as well as the tolerance of synergists and the conditions for formulation restrictions.
